How to setup MyVpn: Mac OS

** Registration for DUO is required prior to attempting to connect to UTEP Myvpn**

 

Quick Guide:

1.       Download Software

2.       Install Software

3.       Start GlobalProtect

4.       Enter Server and Credentials: myvpn.utep.edu (UTEP Credentials)

5.       Approve DUO

6.       Connected !!

Procedure:

1.       Download the application from the following website:

a.       Downloads Mac OS

http://tisrvweb00.utep.edu/myvpn.pkg

b.       May need to allow downloads, select Allow if prompted

2.       Double Click the pkg to install:

a.       Installing defaults click <Continue>, <Install> thru <close>

b.       If prompted at install type local administrator password, and select Install Software

c.       Start GlobalProtect from the system tray, enter the portal address: myvpn.utep.edu, select Connect

d.       Sign in with username and password, select Sign In

e.       Approve the DUO push

f.        You are Connected

If GlobalProtect just spins when trying to connect

1.       Open System Preference

2.       Open the Security & Privacy preferences and then select General

3.       Click the lock icon on the bottom left of the window to make changes and modify preferences

4.       When prompted, enter your Mac Username and Password and then Unlock the preferences

5.       Click "Allow" next to the message "System software from developer "Palo Alto Networks" was blocked from loading."
